The “Haptic Playground” minigame demonstrates Switch 2’s multi-layered feedback system. Drag fingers across the touchscreen to feel virtual textures: gravel (high-frequency vibrations), silk (soft pulses), or ice (smooth glides with “cold creep” resistance). Dock the console to experience Directional Haptics – rumble localizes left-to-right when a virtual marble rolls through mazes. “We sampled 200 real-world materials for accuracy,” reveals Haptic Engineer Emi Sato. The system even simulates weight transfer when tilting the device during a balance-board demo.
