The wait is over—Snake’s iconic jungle infiltration gets a cutting-edge glow-up this August.
Konami has officially confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of the beloved stealth-action classic, will launch on August 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This announcement came alongside a jaw-dropping first in-engine look, highlighting the game’s next-gen leap powered by Unreal Engine 5.
A Jungle Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5
Fans were treated to a visually striking showcase of the game’s lush jungle environments, now brought to life with hyper-realistic foliage, dynamic lighting, and incredible attention to detail. Key enhancements include real-time clothing and wound damage, as well as lifelike facial animations, promising a deeper and more immersive tactical espionage experience.
Modernized Yet Faithful
Konami is giving players options on how they want to experience Snake’s mission. The game offers dual control schemes, allowing fans to choose between the classic MGS3 setup and a modernized layout inspired by Metal Gear Solid V. Whether you’re returning to this Cold War-era classic or experiencing it for the first time, Delta aims to accommodate all players.
“A faithful remake that honors the original while leveraging next-gen tech,” a Konami spokesperson said in a press statement.
What to Expect
As a remake of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, MGS Delta puts players in the role of Naked Snake, a soldier on a mission deep in enemy territory. With new-gen power behind it, the game aims to deliver the same heart-pounding stealth gameplay and emotional storytelling, now rebuilt for 2025.
Pre-orders are expected to go live soon, with more details about special editions and bonus content anticipated in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the MGS Delta release date—and prepare to return to the jungle like never before.
